Once upon a time, I had a food blog. And it was good. I also had a beer blog. And it was good. But somebody, somewhere, somehow got into my Google account and deleted it and with it, went my blogs. Somehow, the account came back, but the blogs were gone forever. So now here we are.
I want this blog to focus on my palate, as it enjoys good food and good beer. I am not a food snob. I am not a beer snob. I am not any kind of snob. But I do love to cook, brew, eat and drink. And that’s what I am going to talk about.
What a bummer! I had just (earlier today) looked at the MLFB blogroll and wondered why your food blog link ended at an error page. Now I know. :^( But hey, a fresh start can be good, right?
Hi Patti.. That is terrible news about your blogs being lost. I am still holding onto a glimmer of hope that they will somehow turn up to you one way or another. Until then, your new combo blog will be great!
As I explained to my son, who forgot to hit “save” on the essay he was writing for school, sometimes the new comes out even better than the old one ever was….here’s to new beginnings!
I’m so sorry about your blog! What a good reminder to back it up…although i don’t think I even know how to do that.
I’m excited to start reading your new blog though!
All of your beer blog posts still seem to show up in my Google Reader, so you might want to try adding the URLs in Reader if you want the text again. No pictures though.. Good luck with the new blog!
I can only imagine the shock and horror I would feel if this had happened to me and my blog was deleted. You are taking it very well, I must say! Bravo!
Did Google have anything to say about exactly how this happened? (Is that sort of thing, do you suppose, becoming more common??)
Jane, Google did restore my Gmail account, but the blogs seem to be gone. I had a few crying spells and one day of eating nothing but brown rice and hot sauce but I’m better. It helps that I wasn’t thrilled with either blog and having two was insane during the school year. Thanks for your comment 🙂
